Simple practices towards natural vision improvements

  • Glasses Off - Aim to leave your glasses off as much as possible (you must feel safe doing this), perhaps at home or out walking and see what happens! Wearing glasses or lenses is habit forming and depending on your prescription many daily tasks can be performed without them.

  • Awareness of Colours - can be practiced anywhere anytime. It stimulates the optic nerve, is beneficial for eye mind coordination and peripheral vision. Simply think of a colour at the beginning of your day, red, blue, yellow, purple, any colour and as your day unfolds be aware when a sign or object of that colour appears in your peripheral vision.

  • Palming - primarily rests the eyes to allow the release of accumulated strain. Click on Palming to see method and for more information.

  • Blinking – blink every 2/3 seconds, lubricates eyes (tears wash, disinfect and moisturise). Blinking momentarily relaxes the eyes and gently massages the cornea.

  • Breathing – breathing regularly & freely oxygenates the blood supply, essential for eyes and other organs.

  • Acceptance – of vision as it is at this moment in time.

  • Attention – not allowing the mind to wander, focussing on what is going on now.
